A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This is a triad in a silver-grey finish: a seated Buddha at the centre, flanked by a standing attendant bodhisattva on either side. The central Buddha, his hair in tight curls and eyes lowered, sits in full lotus on a broad double-layered lotus throne, right palm raised at the chest, left hand cradling a small object in the lap, robes falling from the shoulders in watery folds. Behind him sits a round head-halo carved with lotus petals, and beyond it rises a tall, pointed-arch aureole pierced throughout with scrolling foliage, six small seated Buddhas set in niches among the scrolls. The two attendants stand on small lotus bases, one pinching a slender object, the other with a hand lowered holding a sash, their skirts falling straight, their bearing reverent. Cool and lustrous as moonlight, the set does not dazzle, yet it carries real weight — made to be enshrined together at the principal position of a shrine, or to serve as the solemn, refined centre of a room.
