A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This is a polychrome standing warrior with a long beard and a great blade. His face is flushed red, eyes wide with anger, and his black beard streams out to one side as if caught by the wind; the ribbons of his soft cap curl behind his shoulders. Gold armour and blue-green robe patterns cross over the whole figure, the plates layered with fine scrolling vines, a golden flame blazing at the belly, and a turquoise sash knotted into loops that fall to the knees. In his right hand he holds a long glaive point-down, its broad blade carved with coiling ornament; his left hand rests half-closed at his waist. Robes and scarves lift behind him as he stands in patterned boots on a rock-form base of orange and amber. Fierce yet full of motion, it suits a hall or reception space that needs presence, and collectors of warrior imagery.
