A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome bodhisattva sits in serene majesty atop a white elephant. The elephant kneels with legs folded beneath a gilded, jewel-patterned saddle cloth, its trunk curling up to offer a pink lotus while another bloom rests upon its brow. The bodhisattva wears a tall gem-set crown and layered robes of pale lavender and blush pink; one hand forms a seal at the knee, the other lightly holds a long lotus stem whose green bud and pink blossom rise past the shoulder. Behind the figure, a golden ring halo edged with vermilion flames opens into banks of soft pink clouds. Beaded ornaments set with small coloured stones fall across the chest and knees. Bright yet composed, the piece rests on a vermilion cloud-carved plinth — a splendid, tranquil presence for a shrine, or the crowning accent of a hall.
