A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome seated bodhisattva wears flowing robes of pale blue and aqua over a great golden lotus throne. A light-blue veil frames the face, set with a small golden crown; the eyes are lowered in quiet contemplation. One hand lifts a slender willow sprig, the other cradles a small golden vase in the lap, while a jewelled necklace rests on the chest and a sash ties in a soft bow beneath it. The robes are patterned all over with tiny floral scrolls. Behind the figure rises a tall, pointed leaf-shaped aureole of openwork gold, its pierced vines framing a round halo behind the head. The double lotus pedestal blooms outward in two tiers of petals studded with blue and green gems. Cool blue calm set against abundant gold — a piece of composed splendour, suited to a shrine or to the principal place in a serene room.
