A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome standing figure cradles a child. The deity wears a jewelled tall hat, his long beard falling to his chest and his face wreathed in smiles; his blue-purple brocade court robe is dense with scrolling florals, a jade belt at his waist and cords hanging below. One arm holds a child in red securely against him — the child, hair in two small tufts, laughing with delight and clutching a little pellet drum — while the other hand levels an orange scroll. Behind him, teal ribbons loop into two great arcs, and below, a golden cloud base is heaped with ingots, coins and ruyi. Radiating celebration and warmth, it belongs in a hall or a shop — anywhere blessings are wished for — and equally at a family altar.
