A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome standing figure takes a monk's form. Shaven-headed with long earlobes and a small red mark between the brows, he stands barefoot with a gentle smile on a golden lotus pedestal. His right hand holds a golden khakkhara taller than his head, its head stacked with rings; his left cradles a small flaming jewel at his belly. He wears an orange-red kasaya covered in scrolling florals over a purple under-robe whose hem blooms with great peonies, and a golden necklace of pendants rests on his chest against all that colour. The lotus throne opens in layers of gold petals, holding the whole figure bright and upright. Warm in palette, serene in expression — a piece for a shrine, or to lend a displayed space a note of warm solemnity.
