A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome standing guardian is compact in scale but loses nothing in force. He wears a golden crown and a grave expression, his body in gold scale armour beneath a beast-faced breastplate; red, purple and orange ribbons stream and coil around him, and behind his head a flaming ring of halo burns like a sun disc. One hand reaches forward in a probing gesture while the other hangs at his side gripping a long halberd, its blade angled behind him; at his feet stands a black dog with a golden collar, head high and close to its master, both of them on a golden cloud base. Saturated colour and vivid motion in a small footprint — suited to the side position of a shrine, or to a desk or shelf, where it lends a space a dash of upright spirit.
