Ring-Bearer on the Flame Wheel

Viewing notes

A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record

This wood-toned standing figure is a young guardian in armour. His round face wears a broad, open smile, and a tall, tiered pagoda crowns his head. Scale-patterned armour covers his chest and shoulders, with a beast-mask at one shoulder, a belted waist and layered skirt plates. One hand grips a ring before his chest; the other arm is bent with a loosely clenched fist, as if he had just arrived on the wind and laughed before speaking. His sash sweeps behind him in one great arc, a flame wheel curls beneath his feet — one foot planted on it, the other lifted — and he stands on a rough rock base. The carving is dense yet uncluttered, and the whole figure is alive with motion: a guardian for the side of a shrine, or a spark of spirit for a living room.
