A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome armoured figure stands with a red face, heavy brows and a long black beard falling in three strands to his chest, his left hand calmly stroking its tip. A golden crown caps the head, and his green war-robe carries a coiling golden dragon at the breast; scale armour is worked in fine detail across shoulders and skirt, cinched by a jewelled belt. Orange sashes rise from his shoulders into two great curling loops behind him and stream down at his sides. His right hand holds a long polearm point-down, a golden dragon chased along the blade. He stands on a base of blue and green cloud-waves above a tall wooden-tone altar carved with flowers and fretwork. Full of authority and presence, he suits enshrinement as a guardian of the house, or the principal position in a hall, where he steadies the whole room.
