Standing from Behind

Viewing notes

A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record

This standing figure in a copper tone is seen from behind — no face is offered. The hair is drawn up into a high topknot, loose strands falling at the nape. A robe slung diagonally from one shoulder leaves most of the back bare; the cloth runs down the spine to the feet, its long vertical folds stretching the silhouette, the hem curling slightly at the ankles. The base is rock-form, with root-like ridges pushing out beneath the hem, as if he stood among mountain stones. The robe is a bright amber-copper while the back and hair are far darker, and the contrast draws the back's outline with clarity. With no expression to read, the eye rests entirely on posture and drapery — quiet, restrained, turned inward. It belongs in a tea room, a study or a quiet room, and holds its own as a back view within a group.
