This fully golden bodhisattva sits in royal ease, embraced all around by curling flame and cloud. One knee is raised with an arm resting loosely on it, the other leg folded across, as she sits on a craggy rock seat in repose. She wears a golden crown, her black hair falling to her shoulders, her rounded face carrying a soft smile; beaded necklaces hang in layers at her neck and chest, and long sashes wind out from her shoulders into fluent arcs at her sides. Behind her the clouds surge upward and lift a slender crescent moon, while flame-like patterns scroll outward layer upon layer, wrapping the whole figure in a single mass of flowing gold. Below, waves roll across the base, and among them nestles a small child figure. Gold from head to foot, the piece suits enshrinement in a shrine, or a bright visual centre for any space.
