A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome monk-form figure sits on a rock before a great round orange halo. Shaven-headed with long earlobes and a single point between the brows, his eyes are lowered and his expression settled. His right hand holds upright a tall golden ringed staff that rises above his head, its rings hanging at the top; his left hand cradles a small golden jewel before his knee. He wears a dark brocade robe covered in floral roundels and scrollwork, its edges finished in red and green, with a golden necklace at his chest. One foot is folded up, the other hangs down, and the rock stands on a square plinth painted with golden lotus designs. Around his head-halo the disc burns with flames, and at either side a green dragon's head emerges, jaws open. A quiet companion for a shrine corner or a tea room — a figure to sit beside, and be stilled by.
