A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This wood-toned seated bodhisattva rests at the heart of a layered rock grotto. Crowned, with eyes lowered, the figure sits with one leg folded and one knee raised, one hand resting lightly on the knee and the other arm hanging at the side. The chest is bare beneath beaded necklaces falling from the shoulders to the waist, and the skirt settles into slow folds across the seat. Behind rises an entire carved rock wall: layer upon layer of dripping stone hangs like a curtain around a round-arched opening that frames the figure at its centre, twisted branches and vines winding over the rock at both sides. At the front corners two small animals keep watch — one crouching, one rearing up on its front paws. All warm wood tone: profusion in the rock, stillness in the figure. For a tea room, study or meditation space — rewarding long looking.
