A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This copper-toned seated monk holds a tall staff upright in his right hand, loose rings hanging from its ornate head, while his left hand cradles a flaming jewel in his lap. Shaven-headed, with long earlobes and a small urna between the brows, he sits in full lotus with eyes lowered and a still, inward calm. The robe falls from both shoulders, half-open at the chest with a knotted sash, its folds sweeping over the knees in slow, even arcs. The layered lotus pedestal stands on a hexagonal plinth edged with scrolling vines, and set before it is a golden censer borne on a lotus stem, flanked by two tiny seated figures on stems of their own — an offering group composed with the figure as one. Deep, mellow copper throughout, brightened only by the censer’s gold: a complete and solemn altarpiece for the principal place of a shrine.
