A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome group centres on a seated Buddha with his hands joined in a teaching seal. He sits in full lotus on a draped throne, his deep burgundy robe glossy and broad-folded against the bright gold of his face and hands, dark blue curls above. Both hands rise at his chest, fingertips lightly meeting, as if at the heart of an explanation; behind him a round golden halo is edged with continuous petal carving. Across the front of the throne sit three small figures on aureole-backed lotus pedestals — a meditating Buddha at the centre, a bodhisattva at each side — finely dressed in patterned colour. The main figure's wine-red and gold give the set its gravity, the small figures its refinement: a complete arrangement for the front of a shrine or the centre of a room.
