A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome bodhisattva sits enthroned upon a blue lion. She wears a tall golden crown before a round halo edged with flames, her eyes lowered, her vermilion robes covered edge to edge with fine gilt patterning. One hand rests by her knee while the other lifts a long-stemmed ruyi against her shoulder; one foot is folded up, the other set lightly on a small lotus beside the lion. The lion below is a deep blue, with curling mane and bared teeth that somehow carry no menace, a gold bell at its neck and a red saddle cloth across its back, couched on a base of rolling clouds. Warm red against cool blue makes the whole composition splendid yet lively — a commanding piece for a shrine, or for the principal position in any room.
