A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This pale wood-toned seated figure, many-armed and wrathful, armed with ritual implements on every side, stands out sharply among gentler seated images. The main face glares wide-eyed with fangs bared, a vertical third eye in the brow, a small image borne upon the flaming hair, and a second, quiet little face at the side — stillness answering rage. Arms spread to both sides, each holding an implement: a lotus bud, a sharp arrow, a longbow, pestles and bells arranged in good order, while the hands at the chest form their own seal. Behind it all, an enormous round halo carved inside with flames gathers the whole figure into the disc of a full moon. Beneath is no ordinary lotus throne but a great lotus bowl of layered petals, raised on a high tiered altar stand. A piece of commanding force, made for the guardian's place in a shrine, or as the anchoring centrepiece of a space; in a collection, too, it carries its own weight.
