A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This small seated Buddha wears a mottled gold surface, bright gilt alternating with deep brown, as if years of handling had given it a patina. The snail-curl hair rises high, the long ears rest on the shoulders, and the lowered eyes keep the face in quiet composure. The right hand is raised at the chest, thumb and finger lightly touching, like a teacher pausing at the crucial point of an explanation; the left hand rests palm-up before the belly. The robe falls from the shoulders, girded by a sash at the waist, its folds spreading slowly across the folded knees into a neat fan of pleats above a low, flat base that never competes with the figure. It is a piece made for close company: on a desk, a tea table or in a small shrine niche, its unshowy gold and mottle give it age and weight — equally fitting for daily devotion and for a collector's desktop.
