A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome many-armed bodhisattva sits in a blaze of colour. A golden crown is stacked with small faces; the principal hands are joined at the chest, another pair rests in the lap, and beyond them arm after arm fans out to both sides, too many to count, each hand holding an implement — bells, stupas, wheels and seals among them. Two tall golden staves rise beside the throne to the rim of the halo. Behind the figure spreads an enormous round aureole with a finely woven surface, ringed by a band of orange-red flame. The lotus throne is a saturated turquoise, its petals painted with roundels and clouds, over a dark gilt-traced base. Festive and dense with detail that rewards close looking, it suits the visual centre of a room, or devotional contemplation at close range.
