This combination in deep wood tones sets one great bodhisattva above three small golden figures arranged in a row before her. The main figure wears a tall crown inset with a small Buddha, gold floral ornaments fall beside her ears, and layer upon layer of beaded necklaces with gold pendants covers her chest. She sits on a craggy rock seat with one knee raised and an arm resting across it, composed and commanding, her sashes trailing over the stone. Below, the three small figures, entirely golden, sit on lotus bases barely reaching her feet — dark against bright, one principal and three attendants in sharp, deliberate contrast. The set is made to be enshrined together at the centre of a shrine or altar, the dark figure anchoring it while the gold catches the eye.
