A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome seated monk is rendered with portrait-like realism, as if a real master had just settled into meditation. Bald and lean-faced, he gazes straight ahead, hands folded in his lap, legs crossed on a deep red rectangular plinth. An ochre-yellow robe is worn beneath a great crimson kasaya draped from the left shoulder and fastened with a pale ring clasp, the drapery painted with a silken sheen. There is no aureole and no lotus throne — only the man and his robes, the red and yellow grave yet vivid together. A figure of this kind suits memorial devotion, and sits with natural dignity in a meditation hall, a commemorative space, or a study.
