A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This copper-toned seated Buddha rests in full lotus on an open lotus throne, a tall pointed aureole rising behind him. Face, chest, hands and feet are finished in bright gold against the deep copper of the robes; the hands lie folded in the lap, palms cradling a small golden lotus, and a swastika sits square and clear at the chest. The aureole is carved all over with scrolling clouds and edged in fine flame patterning that gathers to its point. Below the throne stands a panelled altar base in relief — a dharma wheel and auspicious beasts on its face — stepping down in calm, weighty tiers. Gold and copper answering each other, the whole image holds its quiet inward, made to be enshrined complete in a shrine, or placed where a principal seat needs settling.
