A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This polychrome apsara is dancing with a slender waist drum. One hand is falling toward the drumhead while the other arm opens wide, her step caught mid-turn. Long ribbons sweep behind her in great looping arcs, teal-green alternating with orange-yellow, tracing the path of the music itself. She wears a golden floral crown, a dark-red patterned bodice and a pale green flowered skirt, beaded ornaments at her waist, her bare feet treading on swirling pastel clouds. The base below is a lively earthly scene: a pair of golden pheasants with long tails among rocks, peonies in full bloom and two white birds strolling at ease. Heavenly music-making and earthly flowers and birds share one frame — vivid, flowing and full of life, a piece that brings an almost audible festivity into any space.
