Wheel in the Raised Palm

Viewing notes

A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record

This copper-toned Buddha sits in full lotus on a double lotus throne, the whole figure in a warm reddish copper. Snail-curl hair rises to the ushnisha, a small urna marks the brow, and a swastika sits squarely on the chest. The right palm is raised before the chest, facing outward, with a small dharma wheel carved into its centre; the left hand rests palm-up in the lap. The robe slips diagonally from the left shoulder, its folds gathering in layered arcs across the knees — plain, but never bare. Full, rounded petals in two tiers carry the seated form with complete steadiness. The raised palm reads like reassurance itself. An approachable, kindly image: suited to a home shrine or a quiet study, and a fitting first Buddha for anyone beginning a practice — upright, gentle, and easy to live with.
