A viewer's written impression — not a buyer review or first-hand record
This wood-toned standing figure holds his palms pressed firmly together. Shaven-headed with long earlobes and a faintly furrowed brow, he gazes straight ahead, standing upright on a double lotus pedestal. His robes fall from the shoulders in unadorned arcs across the chest, with no flourish anywhere; the pale wood tone is austere, almost severe. Look longer, and the power of the piece is exactly in this tautness — like a sentence not yet spoken, held between the two hands. It belongs wherever the mind needs gathering: a study, a tea room, a meditation corner, or the side position of a shrine. It has nothing to do with noise, and everything to do with attention.
